Ingredients[edit | edit source]

  • 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes or jalapeños for added heat

Preparation[edit | edit source]

  1. In a large pot or skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onions and garlic and cook until translucent.
  3. Add the bell pepper and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, and any additional spices or peppers if using.
  5. Reduce heat and let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, optionally garnished with cheese, sour cream, or fresh herbs.
