Keto Pie Crust provides the foundation for various pies, both savory and sweet, without the high carbohydrate content found in traditional pie crusts. Made primarily from nut flours, it's a go-to base for those on a ketogenic diet.
Keto Pie Crust Recipe[edit | edit source]
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 1/2 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation[edit | edit source]
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a food processor, combine almond flour, coconut flour, and salt.
- Add cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg and pulse until the dough comes together.
- Remove dough and press into a pie dish, ensuring an even distribution.
- Poke holes with a fork throughout the crust to prevent bubbling.
- Pre-bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden. Allow to cool before adding desired fillings.
