Overview[edit | edit source]
Creamed Kale is a rich and savory side dish that offers a creamy twist to classic sautéed kale. Its decadent texture is achieved with the use of heavy cream and butter.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 6 cups kale, stems removed and chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish (optional)
Preparation[edit | edit source]
- 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- 2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 3. Add the chopped kale to the skillet and sauté until wilted, about 3-4 minutes.
- 4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
- 5. Season with ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and let simmer until the kale is tender and the cream has thickened, about 10 minutes.
- 6. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Serving Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Complements dishes such as grilled steak, roasted chicken, or fish.
- Can be served alongside other low-carb side dishes for a hearty meal.
