Guilt-Free Portobello Bun Burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional burgers. They are perfect for those following a keto diet, as they are low in carbs and high in protein.

Instructions[edit | edit source]

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium heat.
  2. Remove the stems from the Portobello mushrooms and scrape out the gills. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the Portobello mushrooms for about 5 minutes on each side, until they are tender and cooked through.
  4. While the mushrooms are cooking, form the ground beef into 4 patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook the patties on the grill or in a pan for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  6. Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of cheese on top of each one and let it melt.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a Portobello mushroom cap down, then adding the patty with cheese, followed by the avocado, tomato, and onion slices. Top with another Portobello mushroom cap.
  8. Serve the burgers with a side of lettuce.
