Herb Butter, also known as compound butter, is a mixture of butter and finely chopped herbs. It is often used to flavor meat, fish, and bread or can be used as a spread.

Ingredients[edit | edit source]

  • 1 cup unsalted Butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh Parsley
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh Chives
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh Dill
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation[edit | edit source]

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, parsley, chives, dill, garlic, and lemon zest (if using).
  • 2. Mix until all ingredients are well integrated.
  • 3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • 4. Transfer the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
  • 5. Shape into a log and roll up in the wrap, twisting the ends.
  • 6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
