Apple Card

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Apple Card is a credit card service provided by Apple Inc., in partnership with Goldman Sachs. Launched in August 2019, the Apple Card is designed to be used with Apple Pay on Apple devices such as an iPhone or Apple Watch. It is part of Apple's broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams beyond device sales.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The Apple Card is a digital-first credit card, meaning it is primarily designed to be used with Apple Pay on Apple devices. However, a physical, titanium card is also available for use at locations where Apple Pay is not accepted. The card has no card number, CVV security code, expiration date, or signature on the card, aiming to provide a higher level of security than traditional credit cards.

Features[edit | edit source]

The Apple Card offers a number of features designed to help users track their spending and make informed financial decisions. These include:

  • Daily Cash: Users receive daily cash back on their purchases, with the amount varying depending on the type of purchase.
  • Financial Health Tools: The Apple Card provides a range of tools to help users understand their spending patterns and make informed financial decisions.
  • Privacy and Security: Apple has implemented a range of security measures to protect users' information and prevent fraud.

Criticism[edit | edit source]

Despite its innovative features, the Apple Card has faced criticism. Some have raised concerns about the card's privacy and security features, while others have criticized the card's interest rates and fees.
