History[edit | edit source]

Apple Music 1 was first introduced as Beats 1, a part of the Apple Music service, which was launched on June 30, 2015. The station was initially led by Zane Lowe, a former BBC Radio 1 DJ. Programming[edit | edit source]

Apple Music 1 broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its programming includes a mix of pop, rap, and indie music. The station features a variety of shows hosted by notable DJs and musicians, including Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden, and Julie Adenuga. In addition to music, the station also offers interviews with artists, exclusive album premieres, and live performances.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Since its launch, Apple Music 1 has been praised for its global reach and its commitment to playing both established and emerging artists. However, it has also faced criticism for its heavy focus on pop and hip-hop music, with some listeners calling for a more diverse musical selection.
