Apple TV app is a digital media player and microconsole developed and sold by Apple Inc.. It is a small network appliance and entertainment device that can receive digital data for visual and audio content such as music, video, video games, or the screen display of certain other devices, and play it on a connected television set or other video display.

The Apple TV app was first announced by Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc., during his keynote at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2006. The first generation of the Apple TV app was released in January 2007. Since then, Apple has released several updates and new generations of the Apple TV app, each with its own improvements and enhancements.

The Apple TV app provides users with the ability to stream video content from services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney+. It also allows users to purchase or rent movies and TV shows from the iTunes Store, and stream video from an iOS device or Mac using AirPlay. The Apple TV app also supports Dolby Atmos for immersive sound, and 4K resolution for high-quality video.
