Burma (officially known as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar) is a country located in East Asia and Southeast Asia. It is bordered by India and Bangladesh to its west, Thailand and Laos to its east and China to its north and northeast. Burma is the 10th largest country in Asia and the 24th largest in the world. The country's rich history and diverse culture have made it a unique destination for travelers.

Obesity in Burma[edit | edit source]

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the adult obesity rate in Burma was 5.8% in 2016, ranking it 173rd globally. This relatively low rate can be attributed to the country's traditional diet, which is rich in vegetables and lean proteins, and the high level of physical activity among its population. However, with the increasing influence of Western lifestyle and diet, the obesity rate has been gradually rising.
