Nepal, officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country located in South Asia. It is mainly situated in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. With an estimated population of 26.4 million, it is the 48th largest country by population and 93rd largest country by area.

In 2016, Nepal had an adult obesity rate of 4.1%, ranking it 187th globally. This relatively low obesity rate can be attributed to the country's dietary habits, which are heavily influenced by its Hindu and Buddhist traditions, as well as its mountainous terrain, which requires a significant amount of physical activity.

Despite its low obesity rate, Nepal still faces challenges in dealing with overweight and obesity-related health issues. The country's healthcare system is still developing, with limited resources and facilities available for weight management and obesity treatment.

One of the well-known healthcare facilities in Nepal for weight loss is the Nepal Yoga Home. Located in Kathmandu, this facility offers yoga and meditation classes, as well as diet and lifestyle counseling, to help individuals achieve a healthy weight. Another notable facility is the VLCC Wellness Center, which provides a range of services including diet plans, exercise regimes, and therapeutic massages for weight loss.
