Sesame fried brown rice (recipe) is a keto friendly food item with net carbohydrates of about zero per serving.

Recipe instructions

  1. Bring 2 c water & rice to boil. Reduce heat & simmer 50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until all liquid is absorbed.
  2. In large skillet melt margarine. Add onions, carrots, and scallions. Saute until veggies are translucent. Set aside.
  3. Heat oven to 350 8F
  4. Place sesame seeds in a shallow oven safe pan. Bakeuntil 10-15 minutes until golden,shaking pan occasionally for even browning.
  5. Lightly grease another skillet.
  6. Beat egg whites and scramble in hot skillet until done.
  7. In large bowl, combine rice, vegetables, bean sprouts, sesame seeds and egg whites.
  8. Add soy sauce and stir.
  9. Saltl and pepper to taste.
