Sugar free mulled wine is a delicious, warm beverage that is perfect for the colder months. It's also keto-friendly, making it a great choice for those following a ketogenic diet.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of erythritol or other sugar substitute
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Pour the bottle of red wine into a large pot.
- Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise to the pot.
- Slice the orange and lemon, and add them to the pot.
- Add the erythritol or other sugar substitute to the pot.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it is hot, but not boiling.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the wine simmer for at least 30 minutes.
- Strain the wine into mugs, making sure to remove all the spices and fruit slices.
- Serve the mulled wine hot.
