Malawi, officially known as the Republic of Malawi, is a landlocked country located in southeastern Africa. In 2016, the adult obesity rate in Malawi was 5.8%, ranking it 174th globally.

Obesity, defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, is a significant health concern worldwide. In Malawi, the adult obesity rate was 5.8% in 2016. This rate is relatively low compared to global standards, with Malawi ranking 174th out of 195 countries in terms of adult obesity prevalence.
