Bangladesh, officially known as the People's Republic of Bangladesh, is a country located in South Asia. As of 2016, the adult obesity rate in Bangladesh was 3.6%, ranking it 191st globally.

Obesity is a growing health concern in Bangladesh, with the adult obesity rate increasing over the years. Despite the low rate compared to global standards, the trend is worrying for a country where malnutrition has been a long-standing issue. The obesity rate is measured as the percentage of the population with a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 30.

Several healthcare facilities in Bangladesh offer weight loss programs and treatments. These include:

  • Apollo Hospitals Dhaka: This is the first and only JCI Accredited 425-bed multi-disciplinary super-specialty tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh. They offer a comprehensive weight management program.
  • Square Hospitals Ltd: This is a 400-bed tertiary care hospital and the leading contributor of private healthcare services in Bangladesh. They have a specialized department for endocrinology and metabolism, which deals with obesity management.
  • United Hospital Ltd': This 450-bed hospital offers a wide range of healthcare services, including a specialized obesity and weight management clinic.
