Kenya, a country located in Africa, had an adult obesity rate of 7.1% in 2016, ranking it 161st globally. This rate is relatively low compared to other countries, but it still represents a significant health concern for the nation.

Kenya, officially known as the Republic of Kenya, is a country in Eastern Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the east, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, and South Sudan to the northwest. Kenya's capital and largest city is Nairobi.
Obesity in Kenya[edit | edit source]
Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health. In Kenya, the adult obesity rate was 7.1% in 2016. This placed Kenya at 161st position in the global obesity rankings.
Despite the relatively low obesity rate, the issue is still a significant health concern in Kenya. The country has been experiencing a steady increase in obesity rates, particularly in urban areas. This is largely due to changes in dietary habits and decreased physical activity.
