Costa Rica, officially known as the Republic of Costa Rica, is a country located in Central America and the Caribbean. It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.
In 2016, Costa Rica had an adult obesity rate of 25.7%, ranking it 48th globally. Obesity is a significant health concern in the country, as it is associated with a number of chronic diseases including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
