Nicaragua, officially known as the Republic of Nicaragua, is a country located in Central America and the Caribbean. It is the largest country in the Central American isthmus and is bordered by Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south.
In 2016, the adult obesity rate in Nicaragua was 23.7%, ranking it 63rd globally. Obesity is a major health concern in the country, as it is associated with a number of chronic diseases including heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
