Panama, officially known as the Republic of Panama, is a country located in Central America and the Caribbean. It is bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. The capital and largest city is Panama City.

In 2016, Panama had an adult obesity rate of 22.7%, ranking it 73rd globally. This is a significant health concern, as obesity can lead to a number of serious health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
