Recipe instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil.
- Starting with a large COLD frying pan, saute the bacon pieces with the butter on medium heat. When the bacon has started to crisp, add the onions and cook until the onions are soft.
- When the onion mixture is ready, reduce the temperature to low.
- Place the perogies in the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions. When the perogies float, transfer them using a slotted spoon to the frying pan.
- Increase the heat for the frying pan to medium. Toss the perogies with the onion & bacon mixture and saute for 5 minutes, or until slightly golden in colour.
-
Serve with sour cream if desired.
