It is a temporary symptomatic treatment for nasal congestion caused by conditions such as:
- A cold
- Hay fever
- Upper respiratory allergies
- Relieves symptoms of nasal discomfort caused by dryness and sinus pressure.

How should Xylometazoline be used?[edit | edit source]
Place a small amount in each nostril and inhale well back into the nasal passages.
- Children 6 to under 12 years of age (with adult supervision):
- 1- 2 sprays in each nostril not more often than every 8 to 10 hours.
- Children 2 to under 6 years of age (with adult supervision):
- 1- 2 sprays in each nostril not more often than every 8 to 10 hours.
- Children under 2 years of age: consult a doctor.
- Use only recommended amount
- Do not exceed 3 doses in any 24-hour period.

- Do not use this product more than 3 days

- If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Thyroid disease
- Diabetes
- Difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland unless directed by a doctor
What to do in case of emergency/overdose?[edit | edit source]
- Frequent or prolonged use may cause nasal congestion to recur or worsen
- Temporary discomfort such as burning, stinging, sneezing, or an increase in nasal discharge may occur
- Wipe nozzle after each use. The use of this dispenser by more than one person may spread infection
- In case of overdose, call the poison control helpline of your country. In the United States, call 1-800-222-1222.

- In the event that the victim has collapsed, had a seizure, has trouble breathing, or can't be awakened, immediately call emergency services. In the United States, call 911.
