Bioidentical hormones

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Bio identical hormones are synthetic hormones that are similar to naturally occurring hormones used to replace low hormones.

Common hormones[edit | edit source]

The most commonly used hormones are female hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, and the male sex hormone called testosterone.

Controversy[edit | edit source]

Some people believe, although it is controversial, that bioidentical hormones offer less side effects compared to naturally occurring hormones.
