Voltaren

Voltaren is a medication that belongs to the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class. It is primarily used to treat pain and inflammation caused by conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Voltaren is also used to treat migraines, toothaches, and pain following surgeries.

Medical Uses[edit | edit source]

Voltaren is used to relieve pain, swelling (inflammation), and joint stiffness caused by arthritis. Reducing these symptoms helps you do more of your normal daily activities. This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Side Effects[edit | edit source]

Common side effects of Voltaren include upset stomach, nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, gas, headache, drowsiness, and dizziness. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Precautions[edit | edit source]

Before taking Voltaren, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to aspirin or other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.

Overdose[edit | edit source]

If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call a poison control center right away.
