2C-G-3

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

2C-G-3 is a psychedelic drug of the 2C family. It was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin, and later reported in his book PiHKAL: A Chemical Love Story. Shulgin classified 2C-G-3 as a member of the "magical half-dozen" of psychedelic substances.

History[edit | edit source]

2C-G-3 was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin in the late 20th century. Shulgin's work on the 2C family of drugs was groundbreaking, and he is often credited with popularizing these substances in the scientific and recreational communities.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

2C-G-3 is a phenethylamine, a class of compounds that includes many psychoactive drugs. Its full chemical name is 2,5-dimethoxy-3,4-dimethylamphetamine. It is structurally similar to other 2C drugs, but has a longer duration of action due to the presence of two methyl groups on the 3 and 4 positions of the phenyl ring.

Effects[edit | edit source]

The effects of 2C-G-3 are similar to other 2C drugs, but it is often described as being more introspective and less intense. Users report a range of effects, including visual hallucinations, enhanced sensory perception, and altered thought patterns. The duration of effects can last up to 20 hours, significantly longer than many other psychedelics.

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

The legal status of 2C-G-3 varies by country. In the United States, it is classified as a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act, making it illegal to manufacture, distribute, or possess. Other countries have similar laws, although enforcement varies.

Safety[edit | edit source]

As with all psychedelic substances, 2C-G-3 should be used with caution. Potential risks include psychological distress, physical discomfort, and in rare cases, serious medical emergencies. It is recommended that users have a sober trip sitter present and start with a low dose.
