4-Acetoxy-DiPT

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

4-Acetoxy-DiPT (also known as 4-Acetoxy-N,N-diisopropyltryptamine, 4-AcO-DiPT, or Ipracetin) is a psychedelic drug and a structural analog of psilocin. It is classified as a tryptamine, a family of compounds that share a common basic structure and are found in a variety of plants, animals, and even within the human body.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

4-Acetoxy-DiPT is a synthetic compound of the tryptamine class. Tryptamines share a core structure comprised of a bicylic indole heterocycle attached at R3 to an amino group via an ethyl side chain. 4-Acetoxy-DiPT is substituted at R4 of its indole heterocycle with an acetoxy (AcO) functional group CH3COO−. It also contains two isopropyl groups bound to the terminal amine RN of its tryptamine backbone (DiPT).

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The pharmacology of 4-Acetoxy-DiPT is not fully understood. However, it is believed to act as a serotonin receptor agonist, similar to other psychedelic tryptamines. This means it binds to and activates certain serotonin receptors in the brain, leading to its psychedelic effects.

Effects[edit | edit source]

The effects of 4-Acetoxy-DiPT are often compared to those of psilocybin mushrooms, although with a shorter duration. Users report altered thinking processes, enhanced appreciation for music, physical euphoria, and visual distortions. As with all psychedelics, the effects can vary greatly depending on the individual and the context in which the drug is used.

Legality[edit | edit source]

The legality of 4-Acetoxy-DiPT varies by country. In the United States, it is not specifically listed as a controlled substance, but it could potentially be considered an analog of DiPT, which is a Schedule I drug.

Safety[edit | edit source]

As with all drugs, using 4-Acetoxy-DiPT carries risks. These can include psychological distress, dangerous behavior, and negative physical reactions. It is recommended that individuals with a history of mental health issues, particularly psychosis, avoid psychedelics.
