Recipe instructions
Lobster is a decadent treat that can be enjoyed in the comfort of your home, especially when grilled to perfection. This recipe not only brings out the natural flavors of the lobster but also enhances them with a delightful citrus-infused butter.
- Preparing the Lobster Tails
Begin with the lobster tails and lay them with the flesh side up. Make an incision down the center of each tail, ensuring not to cut through the shell. The idea is to only slice the meat so that the flavorful butter sauce can permeate well into it. - Citrus Butter Sauce Preparation
For the butter sauce, blend together the butter, juices of orange, lime, and pineapple, zests of orange and lime, shallot, honey, garlic, and cilantro. While you can utilize a small food processor to get a fine mix, hand-mixing works just as well. Once mixed, transfer the sauce to a bowl and set it aside. Before applying on the lobsters, ensure the butter is melted - a quick 10-15 seconds in the microwave should suffice. - The Grilling Process
To ensure the lobster tails don't dry out while grilling, it's a good idea to initially encase them in foil. Place each tail shell side down on a foil sheet, and generously apply the butter sauce on the flesh side. Once well-coated, wrap each tail securely in the foil and place them on the grill. Depending on the size of the tails, grill for about 5-8 minutes. Following this, open the foil pouch, extract the lobster tail and continue to grill it directly. Apply another layer of the butter sauce, and place the flesh side on the grill. After about 2 minutes, flip the lobster tail, making sure to brush it with more of the butter sauce. Allow the lobster to cook for another few minutes until the meat appears opaque, feels firm upon touch, and the shell turns a bright red hue. - Serving the Dish
When serving, it's always a good idea to provide some extra butter sauce on the side. The beauty of this dish lies in the ease with which the lobster meat can be extracted from the shell. Dive in and relish the deliciousness!
