Polymox

Polymox (also known as Amoxicillin) is a type of antibiotic that is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It is a penicillin type drug that works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Uses

Polymox is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is a penicillin-type antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or misuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Polymox include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and an allergic reaction. Rarely, this medication can cause a severe intestinal condition due to a bacteria called C. difficile. This condition may occur during treatment or weeks to months after treatment has stopped.

Precautions

Before taking Polymox, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.

Overdose
