Kafta kebabs (recipe) is a keto friendly food item with net carbohydrates of 0-1 per serving.
Recipe instructions
- Prepare your charcoal for grilling, heat a grill pan over medium-high heat, or see below for oven instructions.
- In a large bowl, combine the lamb, onion, mint, cilantro, garlic and spices. Mix thoroughly with your hands, making sure the fat from the meat gets mixed in very well.
- Divide the meat into 8 portions. Form each portion around a skewer, squeezing tightly so the meat sticks to the skewer.
- Try to make the kebabs uniformly 1 inch thick so they cook evenly. (They look like franks on a stick..
- When your grill is hot, grill the kebabs until no longer pink in the middle, about 10-15 minutes total, turning every 4 minutes.
- Yogurt Sauce: Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Add salt and pepper if desired.
- Serve the kebabs with the sauce on the side.
- To cook the kebabs in the oven, preheat to 375 degrees. Make sure one of the racks is in the middle position. Instead of forming the meat around skewers, form into about 30 meatballs (2 tsp each) and place on a baking sheet. Bakeat 375 degrees until just pink in the center, about 15 minutes
