Acorn squash sage shooter (recipe) is a keto friendly food item with net carbohydrates of about 3-5 per serving.
Recipe instructions
- In a saucepan, heat oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add squash and garlic and 1 teaspoon salt and cook, stirring, until squash is caramelized, 10-15 minutes.
- Add broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and boil gently until squash is falling apart, 15 minutes.
- Add syrup, sage and O t pepper.
- Transfer to a blender and puree until smooth.
- Variation: garnish with pesto oil.
