Smothered patties with onion au jus (recipe) details

Recipe instructions

  1. Shape ground sirloin into 4 patties about 1/2\-inch thick and 4\-inches in diameter. Sprinkle with salt.
  2. Place a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Lightly coat skillet with cooking spray. Add patties and cook 3 minutes, turn and cook 3 minutes longer or until just barely pink in center. Set aside on separate plate.
  3. Lightly coat pan with cooking spray. Add onions and cook 3 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently. Set aside with the patties.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet. Bring to a boil and continue boiling 3 minutes or until mixture measures 1/2 cup.
  5. Return the patties and onions to the skillet. Turn patties several times to coat well and cook 1 minute longer to heat through.
