Recipe instructions

  1. Place chicken in a large soup pot.
  2. Add cold water and bring close to boiling point.
  3. Skim froth from top before soup actually boils.
  4. Add remaining ingredients.
  5. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is tender.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Remove chicken and allow soup to cool.
  8. When cool, refrigerate and remove fat.
